Brief Introduction
The establishment of Beijing Technological
Innovation and Productivity Promotion Center was approved
by Beijing Municipal Commission of Government Establishments
and the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) in May and
June 1998, respectively. It is an important component of the
economic innovation service system in the capital city. The
center has the following subsidiary units: general service
dept., information consultation dept., enterprise service
dept., industrial design dept., and three sub-centers providing
services in the sectors of fast moulding, intelligentized
technology and fishing. It offers value-added services to
enterprises, works as assistant to the government, and functions
as a bridge connecting the government, enterprises and the
scientific and technological circles. At the beginning of
2001, the center was awarded by the MOST as a State-Level
Model PPC. |
Main Achievements
◆ After laborious exploration in the establishment period
from 1998 to 2001, the center has fundamentally built up the
productivity promotion network system in the city, which has
the center as the core of leadership, the sub-centers sharing
common technologies as the basis, and the centers at the district
and county level as radiation zones. So far, it has accumulated
rather strong capacities of providing comprehensive services,
and has made substantial progresses and achievements, particularly
in the construction of service platforms for industrial design,
information network, personnel training, and technological
intermediary, as well as related services.

◆ In 2000 to 2001, It was entrusted to sponsor
the symposium on industrial designs and three sessions of
industrial designing training classes for the PPCs in the
country, which were attended by about one hundred participants
representing 50 productivity centers nationwide.
And this is believed a great contribution to make industrial
design one of the dominating business of the PPCs in the country.
◆ From 1998 to 2001, the center organized for many times enterprises
