	22 Taiyuan Productivity Promotion Center was officially established on June 8, 1993 under the approval of the MOST. As one of the ten experimental PPCs in the country, it bears the tenets of "winning full support from the government, serving enterprises as the orientation, uniting all scientific and technological powers in the society, and serving the customers and enterprises wholeheartedly." Ever since its establishment, the center has been exerting all its efforts to provide SMEs with excellent services to intensify their innovation ability, under the direction of the Development Program of Taiyuan to Invigorate the City through Science, Technology and Education, and the productivity promotion plan promulgated by the Municipal Bureau of Science and Technology. It is praised by enterprises as a "hospital of enterprises". It has successively won the honorary titles of "advanced collective of Taiyuan in invigorating the city through science and education", and "national advanced PPC". The MOST appraised it as a "State-Level Model PPC." It has cultivated 17 scientific and technological oriented enterprises, sponsored 55 courses of various training programs, benefiting more than 5,000 people. In September 1998, it established the Expert Working Committee Accelerating Productivity Promotion in Taiyuan Area, which builds up relations with 39 scientific and technological research institutions, colleges and universities, and over 200 experts and scholars in various fields. In April 1998, it constructed and put into operation the National Productivity Promotion Information Network (PPNET), developing 1,129 enterprise members, and releasing nearly 10,000 items of information on the web. In September 2001, Microsoft (China) Co. Ltd. authorized it as one of its training bases in the country. In 2001, the center provided ten enterprises with quality authentication advisory services, assisted eight enterprises to apply for the national technological innovation funds designated for SMEs, and compiled and published one book entitled as Theory and Practice of Enterprise Diagnosis. In 2000, it organized a delegation visiting Macao to participate in the second session of Eureka Plan Meeting in Asia.
