  22 Wuxi Municipal Productivity Promotion Center is a government-sponsored institution subordinated to Wuxi Municipal Bureau of Science and Technology, after optimization and reorganization, managed in the enterprise mode. It has fixed assets of nearly 30 million yuan, with 104 staff members, including about a half with senior technical titles. Wuxi Scientific and Technological Information Network has reached advanced levels home and abroad in the aspects of information resource development and network application, which holds a leading position in counterpart cities in the country. 222. It has assisted SMEs in the city to apply for the government-allocated innovation funds, of which 36 out of a total of 104 projects have been approved, with combined appropriate funds and discount loans hitting 30 million yuan. 223. Providing various training programs to 6,118 peoples. 224. Introducing from abroad nine talent projects, organizing 11 delegations for overseas training or inspections, and dispatching 17 persons to receive further education and make researches abroad. 225. Accomplishing registered technological contract transactions worth 1.92 billion yuan, including 940 million yuan from technological supply contracts and 980 million yuan from technological introduction contracts. It also hlped establishing 242 new non-governmental scientific and technological enterprises and technological trade agencies. 226. Fulfilling 355 items of patent intermediate services, 50 patent search services, eight cases of intangible assets evaluation, and 16 quality authentication services, which effectively promoted the cause of intellectual property rights protection in the area. 227. The center had an annual business income of 16 million yuan, up 33.35% compared with 1999. And the income of the staff members grew 30 % year on year. 228. The center intensified interior administration, improved the encouragement mechanism, and further upgraded the performances of services. It was subsequently evaluated as a state-level advanced PPC in the country.
