  www Xi'an Productivity Promotion Center was officially established on December 18, 1992 under the approval of the former State Science and Technology Commission and the Xi'an Municipal Government. It was listed as one of the first ten experimental centers in the country in the same year. As an economically independent institution, which is subordinated to the Xl'an Municipal Science and Technology Commission, the center has over 100 staff members at the headquarters, over 40 million yuan assets, and 15,000m2 floor space of office building. It has eight subordinated operating divisions, providing diversified and comprehensive scientific and technological services to enterprises.  ww Bearing the principle of "fully exploiting advantageous edges, and highlighting distinctive features", the center depends on the rich technological and human resources of Xi'an, enlists information, talents, technologies and management into enterprises, and launches cooperation and exchange activities with foreign counterparts, achieving fairly goodresults. In recent years, its comprehensive scientific and technological services, including information network construction and information spreading services, ISO9000 authentication consultation, CAD/CAM promotion, enterprise business establishment, and investment and financing services, are warmly received by small and medium sized enterprises, particularly non-governmental scientific and technological enterprises. The Oriental Time Program of CCTV made special reports on the information technology training efforts of the center. Senior officials from the MOST, including Xu Guanhua, Li Xueyong, Shi Dinghuan, Li Jian, Zhang Binfu and Yang Qiwen, made successive inspection tours to the center. Cui Lintao, Xi'an Party Secretary, and Feng Xuchu, mayor of Xi'an, fully affirmed its achievements and made important written instructions on the experiences of the center. The director of the Municipal Commission of Science and Technology is personally in charge of the affairs of the center, and provides it with full support, particularly in terms of raising funds and facilitating environment for business operation.So far,the center has been authorized powers to offer services to non-state owed technological enterprises for business establishment,and to manage venture capital of scientific and technological projects,all these have created excellent conditions and laid solid foundations for the fast development of the center. ww Guided by the MOST and Xian Municipal Commission of Science and Technology,Xian PPC was awarded by the MOST as an advanced PPC in the country in 1997,And the MOST listed it as a state-level model PPC in 1999 ,As a comprehensive scientific and technological service agency, the center has worked hard in the fields of developing,promoting and providing application services of information technologies and related products;enterprise development strategy and marketing planning services;business establishment and investing and financing services for non-governmental technological enterprises;storing fruits and vegetables,Keeping frutits and vegetables fresh,and related product promotion services in rural areas;and ISO9000 ISO14000 authentication consultation services,training services,and international cooperation and exchange services,To further promote technological innovation capacities of enterprises,the center will continue to explore new service realms and projects,and strive hard to build itself into a first class PPC in the country.
